Dolly-Parton
born on January. 19 1946 Locust Ridge Tenn into a poor family that would eventually consist of 12 children Dolly Parton learned early to overcome the challenges of her life by using her vivid and expansive imagination. Even before learning to write or read, she composed her own music. The first guitar she received was gifted to her at the age of eighteen. She began singing in the Knoxville Tenn station by the age of 11. The following year, she made her first album with Gold Band Records an independent small label. While still in highschool, she made her name local, but longed for an even bigger stage. The year 1964 was the day after her high school graduation, she relocated to Nashville. Dumb Blonde was her first album to be charted on Monument Records. At about this time Porter Wagoner was looking for a new girl singer for his syndicated television show. Parton began her career in the year 1967 she signed with RCA Records by 1968, and was a part of the Grand Ole Opry. The show ended in 1974, as her own songs like Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene had begun charting their collaborative efforts.
