Then, in 2006 Vandervoort made her acting debut in a film, a feature titled The Lookout alongside Jeff Daniels, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Matthew Goode and Isla Fisher. A variety of other TV appearances, including CSI: Crime Scene Investigation resulted in Vandervoort to the role of Clark Kent's Kryptonian counterpart "Kara Kent" (the woman destined to be Supergirl) in The CW serial drama Smallville. The season 7 episode was the first time she was a regular in the series. The episode she appeared on was "Bloodline" episode, which was the eighth season episode. [3] She then returned for two episodes more in the final season of the tenth season of Smallville. [4] Following The CW and Smallville, Vandervoort then shot the sequel to the feature film Into the Blue titled Into the Blue 2: The Reef. The Jazzman is her third independent film.
